Some work for painting and drawing class

This was my final for Drawing II and my last assignment for college. Without much forethought, I knew that I wanted to let go of what I had been taught and simply enjoy making colors and shapes, to do something with a childlike sensibility and let go of the need to make "art" and please others. In retrospect I realize that this was a fitting way to end my school career. I think that maturing is ultimately about regression, going back to something more basic and essential, a state of being we've forgotten. As Picasso said, "It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child". It's good to let go of all the expectations.
